Are You Organized?
This might seem long but there is a valid point to this.
So, as many of you know, I have been mentoring my grandson for some time. During this time he has gotten to the age that most teenagers are where they want to be like everyone else their age. So over the summer, my grandson wanted to go and spend time with some other relatives. While he was there, he noticed that they were always cleaning on a regular basis to the point where it was like every week they were cleaning several hours. And so my grandson asked why is it that when he was at our house they didn’t have to clean as much and the house was always neat and at the other realtor‘s house it seemed like the house stayed messy, but they were always cleaning.
So I had to explain to him that there’s a difference in being organized and being unorganized. And that what we do at our house, we do a reset daily. And once a week we straighten up usually on Saturdays. I explained to him that what he was experiencing was that they would let everything pile up during the week which would cause them to have to spend the whole day cleaning the house. I explained to him that we do what it’s called a reset every evening which normally takes about 15 minutes to walk through the house and put everything back in this permanent place. This keeps the house clean and keep from having to do a massive cleaning at the end of the week. So now he understands the difference and being organized and resetting every day, as opposed to having to go back and clean everything and moving things from one place to another instead of putting it where it belongs, also straighten everything in the house at the end of the week, which takes hours. My grandson also realized that they spent more time trying to find things rather than knowing where things were because they never put things back and his permanent place.
When you are organized and you do a reset it takes less time to put things back in his proper place to where you do not have to to spend excessive amount of time finding things, going back and having to re-clean and re-organize everything on a regular basis this goes for house, closet, garage, anything that required us to have time spent
