Weekend Wins! (April 10-12)
Let's hear how you all did this past weekend. Were you on the road all weekend? Did you have a new booking that you're excited about? Or, did you take the weekend off from events but put in some work on future opportunities? They all matter. Success is a marathon. Not a sprint. Let's talk about what we did and celebrate each others wins. I'll go first: I helped host our first ever "Heat Check" event at the AML Pro wrestling Training Center on Saturday night. This was the brain child of AML GM @Brian Hawks and was a blend of Pro Wrestling & Kill Tony. It was very well received and I've heard nothing but good things about. Then on Sunday, I was a guest on a future episode of Mike Quackenbush's Youtube/podcast show. He was asking me about my book and my experiences as a coach in pro wrestling. Several building blocks were laid. And like I say often: "Any day with pro wrestling is a good day!" 😉 Comment below what you did in the pro wrestling industry this weekend. Celebrate your wins. And even if you think you didn't have any "wins" share what you did anyway. Everything works towards goals. And if you didn't, and just rested up, that's OK too. Poll Question: What did you do this weekend to advance your pro wrestling goals?

Weekend Wins!
I'll go first: I only had a single booking/event this weekend: AML Wrestling in Lexington, NC. This was a fundraiser for Special Olympics of NC. A long 12 hour day. Managing ring crew and producing segments and the event as a whole. It was my first time working with NWA Women's Worlds Champion, Natalia Markova. And she was not what I expected (in a good way). She was a pleasure to work with and professional as all get out. And the match she put together with Clara? Fantastic. NO phoning it in. I also got to work with PCO again. We've had him in AML before and I worked with him a few times during my time with ROH, too. He's great. He even tweaked his neck at another event on Friday night but still gave his all for our event. Even though he really didn't have to. We had several folks come out and help with crew for the first time. They got an eye opening experience, but worked hard. And several of our students got some education and experience that you can't give in a classroom/training environment. Wins From This Past Weekend
This weekend I was reminded how important it is to celebrate progress. Inside this community, @Aaron Osberg shared a great post talking about how he recently started getting opportunities to do commentary and interviews. Not because someone handed it to him, but because he showed up, put himself out there, and started getting involved. That is how doors open in wrestling. Small steps turn into real opportunities. It also made me stop and think about wins from this past weekend. One of mine is that I finished the first draft of my book. Now I'm in the process of tightening it up, finalizing it, and getting it ready to publish. It has been something I've wanted to do for a long time, so I'm pretty excited about finally seeing it come together. But wins don't have to be huge like that. Sometimes the biggest progress comes from things like: • Getting reps at training • Helping with ring crew • Introducing yourself to someone new at a show • Trying something new in a match • Getting better on the mic • Showing up when it would have been easier not to Those small things add up over time. So let's hear it. What was a win for you this weekend? Drop your win in one sentence below. or Use the template if you want to share more. 👇 Weekend Win: What happened? What I learned: What did you take away from it? Next step: What are you going to do with that momentum? Even if it feels small, post it. Progress is progress. Big or small, wins matter. Let's stack them. Poll Question: Did you have a pro wrestling related win this weekend?

Sometimes fortune favors the bold
Hey I just wanted to post an update on my personal journey so far breaking into the wrestling business with my main goal being the commentary and backstage interview aspect. I have always had the dream of being a wrestling commentator. Getting paid to watch wrestling and talk about it I mean who wouldn't want that. Recently i decided to take my shot and started a YouTube channel talking about the local promotions upcoming shows. I learned as much as I could about the feuds the matches and wrestles on the upcoming card. It got noticed and Wrestlers were told by the promoter to reach out to me and get on my show. I made YouTube channel call backstage Pass with Danny deathwish and reached out to the promoter (I have a previous relationship with through work) The promoter also asked me to come to try outs watch and they might have an opportunity for me. He gave me permission to catch some interviews from the Wrestlers at the show. I was not ready I was actually thinking how stupid I was since these inside thoughts of being a commentary and interviewer were now going live. I wasn't ready.. my mic didn't show up in time I had notes and not much direction besides let's see what you got. We went and I had my podcast mic (it was connected to nothing just for show) My wife as the camera woman and my kids in tow. It actually turned out great. I got 5 interviews backstage and at the merch table. I got invited back and one of the promoters long time Canadian wrestler gave me the green light to talk to the roster and do a pre show on May... Crazy... Fortune favors the brave. Thought I'd share this for someone like me that thinks there to old not talented enough or can't break in... My opportunity lined up for me but, if I had to break it down it would be 3 things I learned my very first night. #1 Be respectful and grateful Nobody knew who I was so I was grateful to get any interviews. The first were just asking at the merch table politely and on their time.
