Hey guys,
I just wanted to give you a quick update on future plans and what is coming soon with us! We have been working very hard behind the scenes to keep improving PrintShrimp, and bring you guys as much value as we possibly can.
Unfortunately the nature of our business means that we are often waiting on third parties for us to be able to release new things 😅 But we are constantly working behind the scenes on further improvements and releases 🫡
So, here is our rough roadmap. We want to involve you guys as much as possible with what is going on!
Quickly, for those of you newer here, PrintShrimp was founded just under a year ago. But really, we’ve only been officially ‘active’ since January - as that is when our order portal first went live! PrintShrimp is just a team of two, me and my co-founder Max! It’s been a long road and so much hard work to get here, but we are loving the journey and that is why we want you involved and actively a part of it alongside us. Before January, poster orders were placed via email, and it involved me being chained to my laptop, manually sending orders! (This has probably given some people in this Skool PTSD if they were there during these days hahaha)
So in just under a year, two people have basically managed to beat the poster offerings of Gelato, Printify and other POD suppliers in the space. And we are only just getting started! Every poster order from you guys really means a lot to us and we are loving this journey every single day 😇
Without further ado, here is what we are working on:
USA Price Slash - When we say our ethos is fairly priced Print on Demand, we mean it! After a couple months of negotiating, we have started working with a supplier who is able to give us much more competitive pricing. We will be passing these savings straight onto you guys! All of our US prices will be dropping by around £1-2, allowing you guys to further boost your profit margin.
When? Hopefully early next week! We are just awaiting very final confirmation on their end.
General QOL Improvements and CSV import - Hopefully you’ve noticed some small but nice changes to the general look and feel of the portal. I can’t stress this enough - please get in touch if you ever encounter a bug, or equally if there is anything you don’t like about the portal that you think could be changed! We will never take feedback the wrong way - the more the better. We want to make using PrintShrimp as good as humanly possible and will always listen to ideas and suggestions.
New Sizes - Very soon, the sizes 20x30”, 24x32”, 28x40” and 30x40” will finally be available in the portal. We will also begin offering square sizes in the following: 10x10”, 12x12”, 14x14”, 16x16”, 18x18”, 20x20. Just waiting on our EU location to confirm pricing and build it into the API and then we can launch, so hopefully will be next week!
Canada Domestic Supplier - Have been in talks with a Canada supplier for a while. Just finalising final bits now as we needed to convince them to print some sizes they normally wouldn’t. However, this should go live soon with domestic shipping to Canada customers!
PrintShrimp Mobile Improvements - Currently working on this now. We know the mobile version of the portal hasn’t been the easiest to use, but we have been working through and changing this. Apologies to anyone that has placed orders on the go recently lol. Should be a lot easier and friendlier to use going forward!
Etsy Integration - I know everyone is absolutely desperate for this! I promise - we are more desperate than you are 😂 This is built on our end! We are literally waiting on Etsy to approve it. Hopefully, it shouldn’t be too long. But they have been very slow getting back to us each time we need to talk to them, this just seems to be how they operate unfortunately. In theory, this could/should be approved any day now. Then, we will run it with a select few customers for a while, just to iron out any bugs BUT it will be released to everyone else soon after! We have built it actually kind of first of its kind. Unlike other services you don’t have to map your products from Etsy into our systems, or anything like that. If you have your posters uploaded to PrintShrimp, and your SKU matches your Etsy SKU, it will automatically import across! Even if you don’t have the image uploaded, or don’t have matching SKU, the order will still all import across - you just need to add the image quickly!
Frames - A close second for most requested feature behind integration! We are so so close to having these live, and if you want to blame anyone for the delays please blame Daddy Trump in the USA. This project was going to be figured out a lot sooner but we ran into issues related to tariffs related to our glass and acrylic suppliers in the USA, as we were getting in all of the supplies for the different sizes! Should have an update on an ETA early next week. Really shouldn’t be long to go now! We have everything else ready to go. Will be an option of Natural Oak, White or Black for all sizes. Really happy with what we’ve put together and you guys will be very happy with the quality and prices too.
Past these things, we have a lot of really cool ideas for what to work on. Would love to get a feel for what you guys would prefer to have access to first! Please vote below in the poll :D
Once again, thank you to all of you. We do appreciate every single poster order that comes through. For those of you just starting out with your poster selling journey - it really can work! You just need to put the work in.
