Local vs Global Selling?

Hi All. I'm a USA seller, and I'm trying to decide if I want to sell just to the USA or globally? As a USA seller, we don't get that option where you set different prices per country. So I would have to take the most expensive (probably Canada) as my base and set prices accordingly. But more importantly, I worry about shipping and other tax issues that I'm not really aware of.

Prior to this venture I did digital sales, and Etsy took care of all the taxes and I had no shipping concerns.

If I limit to the USA only, I could miss out on sales. If I ship everywhere then I have potentially more complications.

I've found a lot of stores recently on Etsy using PrintShrimp, and some do global and some just do their location and only the sizes for that location.

How did you all choose which way to go?
