How You Can Communicate Accurate Dispatch Times to Your Customers
Hey guys, Ensuring your delivery times are communicated to your customers accurately are key to ensuring customer satisfaction and ensuring positive reviews, so here's just a few things to bear in mind :) Update Your Dispatch Times to Exclude Weekends: PrintShrimp dispatch times are based on working days (Monday-Friday). As all print locations close on the weekends, it is important to ensure this is accounted for on your Etsy shop. In Etsy, head to: Settings -> Delivery Settings -> Order processing schedule And then select Monday - Friday. This communicates to your customers when orders will be dispatched, and also means you do not have to mark orders as complete over the weekend! Be aware of PrintShrimps production times: Different countries have different production times. Most UK and US orders do dispatch the same or next working day but please be aware of how other countries production times vary. It is all clearly outlined in the below table: https://www.printshrimp.com/pricing Your Production Times and When You Can Add Tracking: Ensure you have set your dispatch times and shipping times to accurately reflect the production and delivery times of PrintShrimp. We recommend setting your processing time as either 1-2 or 1-3 days. Etsy does not mind if you add tracking a few days after marking an order complete! You can do this by clicking 'Add a Package' Also, if you are enjoying using PrintShrimp then please feel free to leave us a TrustPilot review! It really helps us out 😎 https://www.trustpilot.com/review/printshrimp.com

4 months in…what I’ve learned
So it’s around about the 4 month mark since setting up my shop. He’s how it’s been going: Started in April. I have now made 96 sales and now sell between 1-5 posters a day. I have made a total of £1696 in revenue. I have around 200 posters listed and I run Etsy ads at $3 a day (for a select few listings). I am however considering increasing my ad budget but slightly scared I’ll have a drop in sales. Any advice on that front would be helpful, I’m half tempted to leave the ad budget as it is because it seems to be working pretty well so far. I earned my star seller badge exactly 3 months after my first sale, after having my account put into a payment reserve (profit prison). I have a review rate of about 9%, with 5 stars across the board. I will say it did take a little while to really pick up but I have roughly doubled my sales and revenue each month since I started. In the past 18 days since the beginning of August, I have made £700 in revenue, I reckon I’m on track to reach around £1,000 in revenue this month. Some things I’ve learned along the way - 1. You do get out what you put in. I am planning on adding more posters to my shop. My success has largely been due to one of my poster designs hitting it off. 2. 2. Make variations of the posters that sell. I have made about 20 variations of my most popular poster. The niche that I am in makes it quite easy to pump out almost infinite variations of the same poster. I’d say about 90% of my sales come from some variation of my most popular poster. 3. 3.i personally started taking commissions to do personalisations on certain posters. This does obviously require a certain skill level in art although this is mainly done through AI with my own personal touches added manually. This is also obviously more time consuming and isn’t suitable for everyone, but it generates a bit of extra income for me and is quite a popular choice, plus I can afford the time and effort it takes me. I would say to anyone starting out that it’s definitely possible to earn some decent money from doing this and I am very grateful that I stumbled across toms TikTok account and decided to take the plunge to learn how to get started. It came at a pretty good time in my life where I had to take a step back from my regular job (as a nurse) because I was burnt out. Art used to be my main hobby growing up but I fell out of love with it. It’s nice to get back in it and I can genuinely say I really enjoy my little poster business.

@Chloe Mitchell thanks for taking the time to pop back in and share your success story with us all. Would you share your shop link with us all?? I for one would be interested, just to see if the way I have set my shop up similar to yours? Could I also ask, do you use any social media to drive traffic to your shop, or is it now all organic clicks through the Etsy platform? I think one thing we all fear is that our posters won't be recognised by the algorithm and we will never get anyone to look and ultimately, buy.

Overall feel is good, though your "About" section is, IMO, a little un-inspiring. I have ran it through ClaudeAI and this, to me, feels better whilst maintaining your sentiment; A Little Slice of Holiday Some places just stay with you — the colours, the light, the feeling of being somewhere completely new. The way the sun hits a cobbled street, or the view from a clifftop you almost didn't climb. That's exactly what inspired me to start creating. My poster designs are a love letter to travel and the moments that take your breath away. Whether it's a city you've dreamed of visiting, a coastline you never wanted to leave, or a destination that changed the way you see the world — I want to capture that feeling and put it somewhere you can see it every day. Each print is carefully crafted on premium quality paper, chosen to do justice to the colours and details in every design. I believe that the things we hang on our walls deserve to be made well, so every order leaves my hands with real care and attention. These aren't mass-produced prints — they're made for people who love to travel, who collect memories, and who want their home to reflect the places that have shaped them. Whether you're treating yourself to a reminder of somewhere you've been, or gifting someone a destination close to their heart, I hope a little slice of that holiday feeling finds its way onto your wall — and stays there for years to come. Thank you so much for stopping by. It truly means the world.
Etsy Ads.... straight away or wait a while?
Just been checking out Etsy Ads (thanks to @Tom Beeston video in the classroom) and was wondering what people's thoughts are on starting Etsy Ads as soon as the 15 day waiting period is over? Should I turn them on at day 15, or wait for some organic visits after this time, maybe a couple of sales first then use some of that profit to turn on the ads??

@Richie Bromley do you think that the sales came because of the ads, or do you think you would have got them anyway?
Do the number of Favourites help with visability?
Does the Etsy algorithm get a boost if someone adds your shop to their favourites?? Or does it have no bearing at all? If it DOES help, then maybe we could all list our shops, possibly on a pinned post at the top of the board, to give us all a little lift? Just an idea.... 😎
