First Order and Thank you

So there I was… lying on my couch, watching complete trash on TV, minding my own business, when Etsy notified me that I had an order.

Naturally, my first thought was:“Here we go… another scam bot.”

Because during week one of opening my store, that seemed to be my primary customer demographic.

BUT NO.This one was a real human.With real money.Buying my art and in a frame !

Which is exactly when the panic set in.

However , within an hour I had resized files, upscaled artwork, compress images, uploaded to Print Shrimp , and pretended I was a competent businesswoman instead of a woman in pajamas Googling things at high speed.

And weirdly… I actually knew what to do.

Not because I’m naturally technical.Not because I had some grand business plan.But because of all of this group.

Every random comment.Every “here’s how I do it.” “ “This us what I do “ Every person generously explaining things without making beginners feel stupid.

Somewhere along the line I absorbed enough information from this group to survive the moment.

So thank you genuinely to this group and Print Shrimp.

You “Veterans” may not realise it, but for some of us learning this stuff later in life and being completely outside our comfort zones, your shared knowledge is the difference between us giving up and pushing through.

Anyway… first real Etsy order complete.Nobody died.Print Shrimp did not explode.And I only panicked approximately 14 times. It only took 1 month - so hang in there …
