Weekly Running Round Up
As I write this, I am 3 weeks out from my next marathon
It's been an interesting cycle this one
It's been interesting watching the people in my coaching community as well
Busy lives, families, niggles, and injury worries galore
And in truth?
No coach can really prevent that at our station in life
It's just about understanding it and managing it
Which is where the support REALLY matters
A good example is Neil
Neil ran his fastest half-marathon in over 10 years as part of his marathon training with my support
But old injuries and old concerns over injuries have hampered him a bit (he is over 40 and training very hard)
What we have been able to do here is manage the process so he can stay on track and still achieve his targets
And with a few weeks left until he races?
It looks positive
Another example is Scott
Scott is a few weeks out from his first marathon
He has also run his fastest half-marathon as part of his training
We had a conversation the other day about some niggles
A simple practical tweak has got him back on track
These are the moments that matter
Because running your first (or PBing a subsequent) marathon needs the right support at the right time
Especially if you are in midlife and it's not straightforward
This is the 12-months to marathon system
Not flashy or complicated
Just lived experience that can be applied in real time
>> Looking forward to tapering with the tem and seeing results
