A Finite Mindset
An email that I subscribe to (James Clear author of Atomic Habits) provided this timely quote the other day… “Work is endless. Exercise is endless. Parenting is endless. Same with marriage, writing, investing, creating, and more. You get to choose the parts of your life, but many of the important things in life cannot be "finished." Do not approach an endless game with a finite mindset. The objective is not to be done, but to settle into a daily lifestyle you can sustain and that allows you to make daily progress on the areas that matter. Embrace the fact that life is continual and look for ways to enjoy the daily practice." So many times I get stuck in a mindset of “oh I can’t wait to have a (fill in the blank)”or “when this is over…” instead of embracing the everyday grind. I need to remind myself that instead of chasing happiness, I must search for contentment in the life that I prayed that I would have years ago. This idea is also in a great book titled Pound the Stone! Hope you all have a great Monday!
We’re launching The War Room!!!
As some of you might know, or have read on the about page, we are going to be launching The War Room! This is a designed for individuals who wants more connection, brotherhood, accountability, and want to work on a clear vision(s) towards what they want in life. This is a commitment to yourself and the other in The War Room to show up in life. We will have weekly accountability calls. These are geared towards the goals that you want to complete, action steps to complete those goals, weekly reviews, and ultimately accountability from each other. This is geared to be a continuous 8 week “Mission Cycle.” To be forthcoming with you all, in the future, we will be charging for joining The War Room community, but want to make this free for all those who have been with us from the beginning! What we ask in return is to get feedback (and testimonials 😉) to all those who join so that we can make this great and bring the most value to you guys and those who are called to this. If you’re interested please shoot us a comment so we can get everything ready before February!! And if you’re not interested no worries.
Stacking Bricks
Thought I’d share this little 3D flyover of today’s run and a thought to kick off our week. The best way to reach that big goal is to consistently get wins on little goals! This run was my last of the weekend, my fastest and the final part to get me to my goal for the weekend which was running 45 miles. While that’s still only 1/2 of what I’ll do in June it’s still the most I’ve ever done and moves me closer to the big goal.

Showing Up Changes Everything
I had the chance to join Beyond the Finish Line recently, and the conversation lined up perfectly with what we’re building here in Mission’s Purpose — growth, ownership, and the courage to step into the next version of yourself. We talked about the endurance mindset I’m leaning into while training for my first 100‑mile ultramarathon. Not the highlight‑reel stuff, but the real work: confronting self‑imposed limits, committing before confidence shows up, and choosing presence over perfection. The same principles many of us learned in uniform… and the same ones we sometimes forget to apply to our own lives. What stood out most was this simple truth: showing up changes everything. Not because it guarantees success, but because it keeps you moving toward who you’re becoming. Whether you’re rebuilding, reinventing, or stepping into a new chapter, the reps of showing up matter more than feeling “ready.” If you’re training for something big, thinking about starting again, or just trying to live with more intention, this episode might give you the nudge you need. Your story isn’t finished — and you still get to shape it. If you listen, I’d love to hear what part hits home for you. https://open.spotify.com/episode/34KUVNCnMoqVQ6n89L9zPs?si=kPJwExxaQWKwZbHP4H8etw
