Introduction
Hey guys! It’s good to be part of this community. I’m a retired firefighter from the Central Valley of California. Amazingly by the grace of God I’ve been blessed with a patient loving and tenacious wife who has stood by me for 36 years. I have 3 grown children and just became a grandfather in September. Looking forward to getting to know you all better.

Welcome to the community! Honored to have you here.
Thoughts?
In a group call this morning we discussed ongoing employee “pizza parties” and how the employees still complain about them. It got me thinking of this saying “Pizza parties are for recognizing weak leaders”. Thoughts?
How identity traps Your Potential - Steve Magness
I found the two types of passions breakdown very interesting - obsessive and intrinsic. Steve is the author of the book "Win the Inside Game", which @Danny David is reading now and I highly recommend for some of the mindset discussions we have had in this group. Would love to hear the thoughts of this community on this topic. Have an awesome Monday!
Year End Personal Evaluation
The final episode of the year offers strategies and some thoughts on closing out the year strong and entering the new year with purpose. It is perfect to use as a companion to our December Momentum worksheet, getting things moving forward with a plan, strategies, and accountability! You can watch it here on youtube, or listen on all major podcast apps. I'd love to hear what you get from it!

@Danny David thanks my friend! That statement is something to really be mindful of. I have caught myself numerous times recently not being where I was.

@Garrett Pastor Thanks G! It's amazing how much progress simple, repeated efforts can make over time, even if we don't immediately notice it.
Where we focus, energy flows!
Where FOCUS goes, energy flows! Remember, what we FEEL is a result of what we're choosing to FOCUS on. Most people focus on how to avoid pain in the short-term. If we want to push our life to the next level and experience fulfillment and true quality of life we need to be laser-focused on our ultimate vision and our sense of mission - who we want to be, and how we can serve, and contribute. Focusing on that highest vision helps create energy and momentum. We can kick feelings of frustration or depression by changing the channel of our attention to how to help someone in need. It all begins with what you CHOOSE to FOCUS ON. Where have you been focused on lately!?!?!?

I've been focused helping my son develop his own unique leadership style here at the tree lot. It's by far one of my favorite parts of this gig!
