Reflexión: Pinto porque lo necesito.

Tenía ganas de hacer esta pequeña reflexión sobre por qué pinto lo que pinto, y no otra cosa.

A veces escucho demasiadas teorías sobre lo que debería ser un artista o hacia dónde debería ir la pintura. Yo solo puedo hablar de lo mío.

Yo pinto porque lo necesito. Porque es donde me encuentro. Y porque no quiero perder el placer de hacerlo por perseguir nada más.

A mis 59 años, sigo eligiendo lo mismo: sentarme delante del lienzo y ser fiel a mi manera de pintar.

I felt like sharing this small reflection on why I paint what I paint, and not something else.

Sometimes I hear too many theories about what an artist “should be” or where painting should go. I can only speak for myself.

I paint because I need it. Because it’s where I find myself. And because I don’t want to lose the joy of painting by chasing anything else.

At 59, I still choose the same thing: sitting in front of the canvas and staying true to my own way of painting.
