Personalmente me funciona mucho mejor y me da un control que antes no tenía. A veces escucho demasiadas teorías sobre lo que debería ser un artista o hacia dónde debería ir la pintura. Yo solo puedo hablar de lo mío. Yo pinto porque lo necesito. Porque es donde me encuentro. Y porque no quiero perder el placer de hacerlo por perseguir nada más. A mis 59 años, sigo eligiendo lo mismo: sentarme delante del lienzo y ser fiel a mi manera de pintar. ⸻ 🇬🇧 I felt like sharing this small reflection on why I paint what I paint, and not something else. Sometimes I hear too many theories about what an artist “should be” or where painting should go. I can only speak for myself. I paint because I need it. Because it’s where I find myself. And because I don’t want to lose the joy of painting by chasing anything else. 🇪🇸 Si pintas al óleo sabes exactamente de lo que hablo 😅 El tapón del Liquin, del barniz o incluso de la trementina… Si no limpias perfecto la rosca, al día siguiente es como intentar abrir cemento seco. Desde que hago esto, cero peleas en el estudio. Y no hace falta apretarlo a muerte: con ajustarlo un poco queda perfectamente cerrado. Este truco me lo enseñó mi alumna Custodia 😌 En el estudio también aprendo yo. ¿Te ha pasado o soy el único que ha hecho contorsionismo para abrir un frasco? 🎨 Guárdalo para tu yo artista del futuro. 🇺🇸 If you paint with oils, you know exactly what I’m talking about 😅 The cap of your medium, varnish, or turpentine… If you don’t clean the rim properly, the next day it feels like opening dry cement. Since I started doing this, zero fights in the studio. And you don’t need to tighten it hard — just a gentle close is enough to seal it.
