Don't Sweat the Small Stuff ... reading stuff with Mila 21/100
πŸ“– Book Don't Sweat the Small Stuff … and It's All Small Stuff by Richard Carlson, PhD. Synopsis: Simple ways to keep little things from taking over your life. The book consists of 100 short articles -- we'll go through them week by week. This week’s # 21: Imagine Yourself at Your Own Funeral Here's what you need to do: 1. Read it yourself, take time to reflect on it and make notes. 2. Join the live reading on Wednesday. We'll read and listen to the article together, line by line. 3. Share your thoughts. Keep your answer under 4 minutes. Be clear, and focus on expressing your ideas about the topic to practice real English speaking. No debates, just sharing thoughts. This strategy is a little scary for some people but universally effective at reminding us of what's most important in our lives. When we look back on our lives, how many of us are going to be pleased at how uptight we were? Almost universally, when people look back on their lives while on their deathbed, they wish that their priorities had been quite different. With few exceptions, people wish they hadn't "sweated the small stuff" so much. Instead, they wish they had spent more time with the people and activities that they truly loved and less time worrying about aspects of life that, upon deeper examination, really don't matter all that much. Imagining yourself at your own funeral allows you to look back at your life while you still have the chance to make some important changes. While it can be a little scary or painful, it's a good idea to consider your own death and, in the process, your life. Doing so will remind you of the kind of person you want to be and the priorities that are most important to you. If you're at all like me, you'll probably get a wake-up call that can be an excellent source of change. ***** See you πŸ“ Where: Online -- open to all members πŸ“Œ When: Wednesday -- CHECK THE CALENDAR!! πŸ“š LME Page Pals: https://www.skool.com/lme/calendar

β€œPhrasal verb” fun πŸŽ‰ β€œfish around" vs "hunt down"
Hey everyone! πŸ‘‹ Today we’re comparing two phrasal verbs that both mean β€œto look for something”, but the way you look for it is completely different πŸ‘€ Let’s talk about FISH AROUND 🐟 vs HUNT DOWN πŸ• 🎣 FISH AROUND Meaning: πŸ‘‰ Look for something in a vague or indirect way Examples: - She was fishing around for compliments. - I was just fishing around to see what people thought. πŸ“Œ Tone: casual, indirect, sometimes a little sneaky πŸ• HUNT DOWN Meaning: πŸ‘‰ Search for someone or something very carefully and with determination Examples: - I hunted down the original source. - I finally hunted down that book I wanted. πŸ“Œ Tone: strong, focused, determined (sometimes intense!) ❓ Your turn! Do you usually fish around for information or do you hunt it down? Drop your examples in the comments πŸ‘‡πŸŽ‰ https://www.skool.com/lme/classroom/c7105c70?md=f7344607995d4e60b7d2459faa755a95
