Name: Sean Age: 49 Belt / Experience: White/8 months Why you started jiu jitsu: Mid-life crisis maybe? I was curious and wanted a challenge. All that stuff about getting comfortable being uncomfortable, losing your ego, building confidence, and now just trying to learn and have fun. Biggest struggle right now: I hate the stand-up phase and takedowns - but I don’t avoid it. Goal for the next 90 days: I want to just stay consistent, learn, and keep it fun. I used to get real anxious before class, but I’m getting a lot better relaxing. I want to learn to relax more in general, learn to breathe, especially in tough rolls with younger aggressive people. Easier said than done!
