Hermes Daniël Fitness - Business Development
Since I started in January, I’ve generated around 100 leads, mostly from new John Reed members and conversations on the gym floor. This September, I had 14 leads, converting 1 into a weekly training package worth €600, with 3 more possible conversions pending follow-up. I also have 5 upcoming introductions, with 2 prospects showing conditional interest.
Right now, I have 9 active subscriptions, but client churn is high—I’ve lost 4 in the past three months while gaining only 1 new subscription. My monthly revenue is about €2,000, with net income roughly half that. My network includes 142 leads, 153 Instagram followers, and 124 LinkedIn connections.
My biggest challenges are low conversion and retention rates, with only about a 7% confirmed conversion from recent studio intros, and several clients have paused or stopped training. My Instagram reaches 15,000 views per month, but I’m mostly just posting as social proof right now. I see this as an opportunity area.
I spend about 25 to 30 hours a week on the gym floor, training clients and prospecting. Each week I schedule 3 to 5 trial sessions, which I consider warm leads. John Reed supplies 3 to 5 cold leads monthly from clients interested in studio introductions.
I’ve reached out to all my clients asking for feedback and referrals. While the ratings have been excellent (10/10), I’ve only received 3 referrals in 9 months. I actively ask for written testimonials and have started recording video reviews, with 2 so far.
My warm lead pipeline is running low; I spend office hours following up with them, and when I have time, I reach out to cold leads, usually by messaging. I could definitely do more with social media.
Last week I reached out to businesses around John Reed, offering to train their personnel, but so far have only received “no” responses. This week, I gathered all email addresses from my system and sent out my first “client in focus” email to 125 recipients.
Given recent trends, I’m starting to feel a bit nervous and overwhelmed—I need more clients to keep the momentum going.
Would love to hear from the community on how to tackle these challenges or any advice on prioritizing my next moves!
