Your Personal Health Insurance
For those out there running their business full-time, what do you do for your own health insurance? Do you have a plan directly from a provider? Any tips on affordability when you are not getting health insurance through an employer?

Unfortunately I don’t believe there are any truly affordable options especially with a young family. My wife and I are on standard Medicare and a supplemental and we pay ~$610/month. I have a friend, self employed with wife and kids, on the ACA and he’s paying $1500/month.
Strength Forum 2025 - Save the date!
Discover Strength's, Luke Carlson, shared this Strength Forum announcement in HIB Pro. I went last year along with lots of HIT trainers and entrepreneurs, and it was excellent! Details from Luke: Strength Forum will be back in 2025! November 21st and 22nd in Orlando (Sheraton Orlando North – Reservation link coming soon!). We are adding more conference/meeting content Friday afternoon/evening and then we'll meet again all day Saturday followed by a dinner at Chrisnters. Hope to see so many of you again and meet many of you! #### Once Luke shares more information, I'll update this post. Feel free to email Luke directly to [email protected]

@Lawrence Neal thank you
Strength Forum 2025 Orlando
This was mentioned in the podcast today. How can I get more information on this?
Free Personal Training Manual
Per Lawrence's request: I wrote this manual in the early 1990's for Gainesville Health and Fitness, and eventually adopted it into a Generic Manual. I released this as a 'Creative Commons Non Attribution' release. You are free to download it, copy it, rewrite it, or even put your name on it. Use it as you see fit. I am available for any questions or calls about it.

I read it through yesterday. It’s excellent with a lot of subtle details that make large differences. I used some of those on my most difficult to instruct client and he performed better for the entire session than he has before. Thanks Daniel!
Client of the Week
Want a simple way to get more clients—without paid ads or complicated funnels? All it takes is one plain-text email per week to your list. If you’ve got old leads, past clients, or even a small local list—this will help you turn that into sessions and sales. ✅ How to Do It: 1. Subject Line = Familiar + “Client of the Week” Use a phrase your audience instantly relates to. Examples: - [Your Business Name] – Client of the Week - [Your Method] – Client of the Week - Smart Strength – Client of the Week - Slow Strength – Client of the Week 2. Body = Short, Scannable, Story-Based Highlight a real client result. Keep it clear and relatable. Example: "This week’s Client of the Week is Sarah Jane. When she started, she struggled with consistency and back pain. Now she trains once per week, is pain-free, and says she feels 10 years younger. No gimmicks. Just short, effective strength training sessions." 3. Call to Action = Ask for a Reply End with this line (no changes): "If you’re interested, just reply and I’ll send you all the details." Do not change this. Test this exact line for 10–15 weeks before even thinking about tweaking. 💡 Why It Works: - Keeps you top of mind - Creates curiosity - Starts real conversations - Works for studios, home setups, and virtual trainers alike You can send a new version of this every week with a different story—and watch replies (and clients) start rolling in. Example in comments.
