Hey everyone, it's been a while since I last posted so I thought I should put down some info.
My circus troope campaign is evolving into a more classic RPG adventure. The circus is now become a mobile base/business the group returns to between adventures. Plot points are thickening nicely and I'm seeing engagement with characters roleplaying that were in the sidelines before.
I'm feeling inspired to try something different lately though. Over the past 10 years of DMing, I've had several groups build up over time then drift apart as life continues. I want to connect all these groups together and find ways to play DnD with old friends. When I can across Matt Covilles' video on West Marches style of games it had me intrigued. Anyone have tips on where to start building a West Marches style game? I've been reading posts everywhere and even tracked down a copy of Microscope for some side reading. I want to move forward but not sure if I need to make starting map, plan out some random encounter tables, or what! (Overanalysis Paralysis demon has be by the... well)
Anywho, let me know if you have any tips. I'm hoping to start a discussion around West Marches style of play
