Here's a simple tool for the moments when you feel yourself reacting: THE THREE QUESTIONS 1. What do I know? Separate the facts from the story you're creating. 2. What am I assuming? Notice the meaning or motivation you've assigned. 3. What outcome do I want? Decide what you actually want your response to accomplish. If you still need more information: Ask one more question before making one more statement. Save this one somewhere you can see it. 💬 Which of the three questions do you think you need most often?

When we talk about leadership, we often picture a supervisor, manager, or executive leading a team. But leadership isn't limited to a position or title. It's about the influence we have on others. Leadership happens in a classroom, a family, a church, a business, a community, and countless everyday interactions. You might be a teacher navigating a challenging classroom situation. A parent trying to communicate with your teenager. A pastor supporting your congregation. A colleague trying to influence positive change without having formal authority. Or a C-suite executive navigating difficult decisions. Different roles. Different challenges. But so many opportunities to learn from one another. That's what I want this community to become: a place where we can bring our real experiences, ask questions, share perspectives, and support one another. A place where you can say, "Here's what I'm dealing with. Has anyone else experienced something similar?" Not: How quickly can I make this problem go away? What outcome do I want? Then choose your response with that outcome in mind. That's your challenge. One situation. One pause.
