I’m JJ and I’m 55 years old. I live in Southeastern Wisconsin with my husband, Eric. We have a 21 year-old-daughter who is heading back to college for her senior year this week.
My husband and I started eating a mostly meat diet in October of 2022. We have both lost 30+ pounds and seen many health and mental health benefits. We even started our own YT Channel! But as time went on, some of our labs had a reversal and were heading in the wrong direction, especially our blood glucose. While our trigs improved a bit, they still weren’t good — especially for my husband. Dr. Boz seems to be one of the only doctors truly addressing these types of issues. Just this summer we were able to implement some strategies based on the information in her YT Videos and have started to see things improve.
I’m here to learn more. Our lives and health are not static, and I believe we need to be equipped with all the information we can get so that we can be nutritionally, physically, and mentally sound no matter what season of life we are in. Now, onto my why …
I eat a mostly meat diet because I refuse to return to a life of exhaustion, infection, and despair. I know what it feels like to be heavier, foggy, inflamed, fatigued, and forgotten—and I will not go back there. I choose this way of eating to stay vibrant, strong, and clear, so I can live fully present, grateful, and connected with my family and with life itself. Having lost my father far too soon, I know how precarious life can be. Watching my mother give up when she turned 70 and grow more fragile and isolated only strengthens my resolve. I choose vitality over decline, strength over surrender, and thriving over merely surviving.
