I just read through and watched the off the catch options in the technical skills curriculum, you can watch here, just scroll to the off the catch folder: https://www.skool.com/dannycooperbasketball/classroom/67ab26b6 What I noticed is that while it’s important for players to have the ability to have great footwork, dribble moves, etc… the off the catch options are a very practical way for players to implement and get better almost immediately. Since defenders usually do NOT close out well or on balance - it’s a huge advantage to be able to attack it with a .5 second decision (stampede catch is like -0.5 lol). Players who might not necessarily have a great handle or shiftiness can use these options to still be super effective and it mainly comes down to just reading how the defender closes out. Not to boast, but I was elite at playing off the catch in HS and college - it was my bread and butter. If you’re a coach/trainer looking to implement this into live play for your players, head to the SSG section and try using this drill in your next group or team workout: https://www.skool.com/dannycooperbasketball/classroom/6503cfab?md=f2f15ca3ab8c4332bb0d03f4ee4b9a37
