One thing I’ve learned working with Danny is how intentional he is when building workouts.
Instead of trying to improve everything at once, he will identify the player’s three biggest weaknesses and organize their training around them.
For example:
A Day: Finishing through contact
B Day: Shooting off the dribble
C Day: Pick-and-roll decisions
You can even take one skill and divide it into three areas. Finishing through contact could become:
- Creating better driving angles
- Absorbing bumps
- Using the second dribble
The goal isn’t to cover as much as possible. It’s to spend enough time on the right things to create real improvement.
What is one skill you’re currently trying to help your players improve?
