G56 rebuild part 2
Ok finally said enough dicking around, bearings have been here for 3 weeks, hunting or not this needs to be done.
Sunday night
drained tcase and tranny
Removed front and rear driveshaft
-I can’t believe it but even with 340k these u joints are fine including the cv on the front
Monday night
Supported tranny with atv jack and blocks of wood/ratchet straps
Removed tcase and cross member
Tuesday night
Pulled granny and got it out. Checked primary shaft end play while cold
-5 thou
Split the cases
Check out the bearings, they are done. I am sooo glad I did this.
All gears look good so far
