Correct terminology for copy annotation and structure
hey brother, could you calibrate my thinking on hierarchy when studying copy?
originally i was thinking:
Section > Beat > Sentence
Section being something like lead, body, close or CTA. Beat being the persuasive purpose of a smaller group of copy. Sentence being the actual argument or execution.
but now im wondering if there should be another level:
Section > Framework > Beat > Sentence
for example:
Lead > Problem > Agitation > Sentence
Lead > Problem > Consequence > Sentence
Body > Solution > Mechanism > Sentence
where im unsure is whether "Problem" and "Solution" should be called frameworks, larger beats or something else entirely. maybe framework should only refer to the overall structure like PAS or AIDA.
im trying to keep it simple while using terms other copywriters would understand. what hierarchy would you use?
