How I Stopped Overthinking Everything
Overthinking was one of the biggest things holding me back, but I had it completely wrong. I thought it meant I was having too many thoughts. That is not actually true. I was not thinking any more thoughts than anyone else. The real issue was that I was too attached to my thoughts. A negative thought or limiting belief would enter my mind, I would pour energy into it, and before I knew it I was overwhelmed, dysregulated, and stuck on the hamster wheel of my own mind. The thing that changed everything was learning to see thoughts as things. Just objects passing through my awareness, like my phone, my shirt, or my car. I started observing the thought, letting it go, and returning to what actually mattered. The more I practiced that, the easier it became to stay present and focused.

Surfs up? Check YOUR inner current
“There is a tide in the affairs of men, Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune…” Most of us think life is about force—pushing, striving, controlling outcomes. But what if the real work is noticing the tide? There are moments when everything in you is aligned—your awareness is clear, your resistance is low, and the next step feels almost obvious. That’s the flood. Miss it, and we tend to loop—overthinking, forcing, tightening.Catch it, and things move with surprising ease. The invitation is simple Pay attention to your inner current. Not every moment is meant for action. But when the tide rises—that wave is for us!

The Worshipful Quality
“Teachers can be a living example to their students. Not that teachers should look for students to idealize them. One who is worth idealizing does not care whether others idealize them or not. Everyone needs to see that you not only teach human values but you live them. It is unavoidable sometimes you will be idealized -- it is better for children to have a role model, or goal, because then the worshipful quality in them can dawn.” ― Sri Sri Ravi Shankar This sounds like when my son is trying to lift something 'heavy' (he's 2 1/2 years old) and then dada comes and throws it like it's nothing. Dada looks like superman! Turns out this is a positive exercise, because later on in life this practice of hero worship will make it easier for self-love and careful attention to behaviors.
