Why does your patience seem to disappear out of nowhere? 😬
Have you ever gone from “I’ve got this” to “I cannot handle one more thing” in a split second?
Most of the time, it’s not actually out of nowhere.
It’s sensory.
Your nervous system has usually been getting overloaded way before that moment—we just don’t always catch the early signs.
I’m a pediatric OT, and I see this all the time with parents (and honestly, myself too 😅).
Today I shared a simple way to start noticing your own sensory patterns inside my community, Raising Curious Eaters. In RCE, I share more about how sensory affects things like play, behavior, attention, focus, and skills of daily life, including eating.
So now I’m curious…
Which one gets to you the fastest?
Visual clutter / too much going on
Noise / too many voices
Constant interruptions
Certain textures (sticky, scratchy, messy, etc.)
Other (describe below in the comments)
