Somebody dared me to write/publish this... As part of my own personal growth journey of speaking with integrity and honesty!
So, here goes...
I would like to bluntly and lovingly detail the top ten frustrations I experience when I observe the world and how sad it makes me that so many people are experiencing anxiety (and other emotional issues) when there is always some little (or big) thing they can do for themselves, but seemingly don't.
** This is, of course, written with love and a little tongue in cheek, as mental health issues are very real (as I know from recovering from anxiety, OCD and depression myself). **
I can't help but ask - "What might we do (for themselves) over and above the help they may be currently receiving from doctors and the various medications they take?"
So, my frustration number one is...
Why can't people see how programmed they are by the messages coming from the media, governments, big pharma, and big food, influencing them to live in fear, surrender their power, medicate their problems, and eat foods which are not optimal for a human's well-being?
Frustration number two...
Why can't people see that most emotional problems are caused by biological exhaustion and poor living skills? Therefore, more sleep, a diet to raise mitochondrial health, and learning how to stop stressing their bodies by worrying too much are key to recharging their energy levels back to normal. Then, by living in more courageous ways, they can change their lives.
Frustration number three...
Why can't people see that how they were born is not who they have to be? Pessimists can learn to become optimists, introverts can learn how to become more outgoing, victims can learn to take control, doubtful people can learn to trust, shy people can learn how to become more open, and quiet people can learn how to find their voice. Why wouldn't you take action to learn and develop these skills?
Frustration number four...
Why can't people see that belief systems can be changed? Just because your family and culture instilled a certain belief system in you, it doesn't mean that as an adult, you can't choose which belief systems are appropriate for the life you want to live. You can consciously retrain your unconscious brain with new beliefs that better serve you. Plus, you can define the boundaries of responsibility you choose to set for yourself and those around you.
Frustration number five...
Why can't people see that it's far more beneficial to test a new concept to see if it works, rather than just believing their thoughts that say it won't work? How can anybody grow if they limit themselves to only what they currently believe, especially when those beliefs have ended up trapping them in emotional distress?
Frustration number six...
Why do people take things personally or fail to ask for what they want? What anybody thinks of them is none of their business, and failing to ask for what they desire is just self-abuse, as is - guilting or shaming themselves.
Frustration number seven...
Why can't people see that there is only this moment, called NOW? It is only what they do and say in this moment that will change their future life. No amount of reliving the past or fearing the future will change what happens in this moment. Only their actions in the now will change their future. It is possible for a person to act in any way they wish in any moment, regardless of their past experiences or any negative self-identification they may be experiencing.
Frustration number eight...
Why can't they see that without a clear vision of who they wish to become and what they desire from life, they may find themselves being influenced by their past stories and the expectations others have for them? If they don't consciously have a plan for their life, their unconscious brains will just keep giving them more of the same.
Frustration number nine...
Why can't they see that using thoughts or emotions to decide what is right or wrong may be flawed? In any moment, they must ask themselves, "Which action (or response) is in line with my intentions for my life and who I wish to become?" - Then take that action regardless of what their brain is telling them and any feelings of discomfort in their body!
And finally, frustration number ten...
Why can't they see that life is only serious if they decide to make it so? By learning not to fear death, they can begin to enjoy playing the game of life and not waste this incredible opportunity to learn from the challenges placed in front of them. We can rise above them, accept them, or move ourselves away from those stressors and towards things that inspire and make us happier.
I could go on all day about this because I am passionate about people doing all they can to help themselves - because anxiety is (sadly) becoming the true pandemic of our time (and though not easy), there is much we can do to help ourselves if we really desire to and get the right help and motivation.
