Every Fun Project is ACTUALLY a Teaching Moment

Okay, I admit it. In my group, AI STORYTELLERS, our fun projects have a hidden agenda. But it's not what you think. Everything I do, is for the betterment of my members. Contests, Quizzes, Plays we have it all. They're all built with a plan to teach my members something about film, books, or music. Like today for instance, we did a live "table reading" in our rehearsal for our LIVE READING OF THE VELVETEEN RABBIT. It's tomorrow! It was so much fun. Today they learned it's not just a play. It's understanding the foundation of how a film is created. Story, creating the cast, setting the tone, learning about timing, emotion, and how to care about the subject matter. Next we added images and we read again. They felt it, they lived it. Tomorrow is just the icing on the cake, if you will. It's a chance for the entire community to see how hard we've worked. But there's so much more to it. There's presentation, there's participation, coming together for one goal...to make people happy.

We're passing notes, we're commenting and giving real feedback. But most importantly, We're Doing the Work! We're getting our hands dirty.
