Consistency: Why Do I Keep Falling Off? ๐Ÿ‘€
I canโ€™t count how many times Iโ€™ve told myself, '๐˜–๐˜ฌ๐˜ข๐˜บ, ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ด ๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ ๐˜โ€™๐˜ฎ ๐˜จ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜ฃ๐˜ข๐˜ค๐˜ฌ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ ๐˜ต๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ค๐˜ฌ.' It usually starts the same way - strong momentum, good intentions, then life happens.
And the cycle continues: ๐™Ž๐™ฉ๐™–๐™ง๐™ฉ > ๐™Ž๐™ฉ๐™ค๐™ฅ > ๐™๐™š๐™ฅ๐™š๐™–๐™ฉ.
After a while, I started noticing something. Somewhere along the way, consistency turned into:
โžก๏ธ doing things perfectly
โžก๏ธ never missing a day
โžก๏ธ or feeling like momentum was way too fragile and easy to lose
And that mindset? It made consistency feel heavy instead of doable.
So I stopped asking why I canโ€™t stay consistent and started asking what makes consistency fall apart for me and I came up with a few things I want to share with others.
This week, Iโ€™m running a ๐Ÿฑ-๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐—–๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐˜† ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐˜ ๐—˜๐˜…๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ - not to โ€œfixโ€ anyone, but to practice a different way of showing up that actually worked for me.
One thatโ€™s:
โ˜‘๏ธ flexible instead of all-or-nothing
โ˜‘๏ธ focused on returning, not restarting
โ˜‘๏ธ built around real life, not ideal conditions
This isn't a challenge to "do more" or "try harder" or โ€œdo this one thing for 5 days and youโ€™ll forever be consistent.โ€
It's about figuring out why your consistency breaks in the first place so you can nip it in the bud for good.
If that resonates and you want to join me, youโ€™re welcome inside The Escaperโ€™s Lab. Weโ€™re testing this together, one small action at a time.
