🫟 Celebrating Across Cultures
One of the things I loved most about living in different countries was learning about different cultures and festivals, and meeting new people. Joining friends and strangers in their celebrations opens your eyes, your mind and your heart in the most wonderful ways.
You begin to see how very unique we all are, and yet how deeply similar.
Mindfulness played such an important role in my expat life. When we pause long enough to really notice the sights, the sounds, the smells, the tastes… and pay attention to the smiles and small interactions, we experience life on a completely different level.
This week is Holi, the Indian festival of colour, celebrating spring, new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil. If you go outside on Holi, you will likely be drenched in bright coloured powder and maybe a splash of water too. It's magical chaos!
Here is a little mindful moment inspired by Holi that I shared in Raising Change Globally this week. Enjoy!
When was the last time you allowed yourself to be joyfully UNproductive and just a little bit ridiculous?
