A few quick reminders: • No spam or outside promotions • Be kind and supportive to other members • While we love all crafts, please keep posts focused on Circular Machine Knitting except for our Show & Tell Post on Sunday. Starting my baby blanket
Took me awhile before I decided on what colors I wanted to use, so from the stash I had on hand I came up with a plan. Used Excel spreadsheet to put the colors (not exact) in, made my first tube (think I will need 15 but more can always be added). Will have tubes finished by 6/21 so @Deborah Lewis can help me stitch them together. - UPDATE - timed myself for how long it took to make a tube - 1 hour - so I should be able to get 3 done while Campbell naps starting next week if I haven’t decided to drop all tasks and just knit this weekend. It’s going to be too hot to be outdoors anyway.

Wish I Could Say I’m Done With Michaels
(Warning: long story, I’m just typing out my frustration). Found a clerk at Michaels whho was very helpful in pointing to the yarn section where I could find the 3 weight. She cautioned if I was knitting with it, it might be difficult, popular choice was a 4 weight. I respond oh I’m not knitting, I’m going to use my Caydo iCord machine to make cord that I can use to make letters to write a name. A member of my knitting group had shown us cords made with 3 different weights! Then I showed her a picture of the bag, and she said this will be perfect. There weren’t too many color options but she kept looking and came back with Loops & Threads Soft Ombré Plum/Pink/White. It’s a little lighter than I wanted but it might work. It also was more than I typically pay for yarn. She said Michaels has a 25% off on one item, but if you order online you can get 20% off everything but it will take 2-3 hours. I eye my cart and think I need everything now! I had my list from @Julie Findleton to make the elephant and the white yarn to finish the blanket. She says the store is not busy, up front the items could be rung up separately and you can get the 25% off each item. I say that will work and go to check out. It’s now 12:59. Person up front says nope you only get one discount. I say, but she said … he says you can give it a try (I’m at the self check out). Unfortunately, I don’t remember my Michaels’ password and once I finally got in, the 25% discount was only for people who hadn’t previously requested to receive text messages. I stand there for a minute trying to decide if there was one thing I could get now? I looked at the clerk and said forget it, I’ll just place the order online so I can get the 20% discount. He says it will take 30 minutes to process. I ask why? Everything I want is already in my cart. He says but it has to be processed. At this time I don’t know if I gave him the evil eye or just looked pitiful. He says, come on over, I’ll ring it up! S(time is now 1:15). I did say thank you and have a great day, but was thinking you just went 15 minutes into Campbell’s nap time and my knitting time. If I didn’t like the convenience of their location, only 3 miles away, I wouldn’t go back unless online ordering was down. I did save $11.35 that I will contribute to Campbell’s college fund because she so patiently hung out with her Grandma.
