💛 A Heartfelt Thank You to This Amazing Community 💛
I just wanted to take a moment to say... thank you. This past week has been one of the most exciting, emotional, and exhausting weeks I've had in a long time. I had the incredible privilege of becoming a Nana again! 💙 There really are no words to describe how special it is to welcome a new little one into the family. At the same time, it was also a challenging week. Between being awake for well over 36 hours, spending time at the hospital, and then having our little grandson back and forth because of jaundice, it's been an emotional roller coaster. Thankfully, he's doing well, and we're so grateful for that. While all of this was happening, something else reminded me just how special this community is... You kept it going. Members continued to encourage one another. Questions were answered. Projects were shared. Conversations continued. Our admin team stepped up in a big way, making sure everyone felt welcomed and supported. It reminded me that this community has become so much more than just a place to find patterns. It's a place where people genuinely care about one another. I'd also like to give a special congratulations to our two newest Level 9 members! 🎉🎉 @Tina Bryner and @Dd Stoller Reaching Level 9 takes consistent participation, encouraging others, asking questions, sharing projects, and helping make this community the wonderful place it is. Congratulations on this fantastic milestone! Finally, I want to thank every single one of you. Whether you've just joined, reached a new reward level, earned a 🔥 streak, climbed the leaderboard, answered someone's question, or simply took a moment to encourage another member... You matter. Every comment, every like, every project shared, and every kind word helps make this community stronger. I'm incredibly grateful for each of you and proud of the community we're building together. Here's to celebrating a beautiful new grandson, an amazing admin team, two new Level 9 members, and every one of you who makes this such a wonderful place to learn, create, and belong.

Scissors: I've got questions
This is a topic that I find confusing -- at least, online. I have discovered that my yarn cutting scissors get dull really, really FAST! Hubby has sharpened them for me. At first, they are great! But before long, they are dull again. So I went searching for some that would work well for pompom making...(since that is where I am in making my Sleepy Bear). I learned the hard way that making pompoms with dull scissors is pretty much impossible! I found some higher prices scissors with free professional sharpening in Canada. But, I would pay more in shipping both ways than the cost of the scissors themselves. So not practical for me in the USA. Then I found a pair in the Atlanta, Georgia area, but would still be without them for about a week with shipping both ways...paid by me. So now I think perhaps the best approach may be to buy new scissors, use them until they no longer do that job, then turn them into paper scissors, and buy new ones. I have the gray handled Fiskars scissors right now. But they are NOT going to "cut it" when I make the pompom for my Sleepy Bear. What's your favorite go-to scissors for yarn? Especially for making pompoms?

Did you Google local scisdor sharpening @Zona Taylor there may be someone you can go to. I would also recommend calling your local sewing shop. They may know someone.

A little bit of fun….
….as some of us know, our glorious leader @Kim Thompson-Pinder is expecting her fourth grandson in a few weeks on 4th July. Her daughter Deborah is expecting her first baby… I thought it would be a bit of fun if we have a game of ‘Guess the Baby’s Weight’ The winner will receive a £10/$10 Amazon voucher so you can buy some yarn! 😁😁😁😁 The closest to the baby’s weight will win! and if you get the weight spot on… I’ll throw in another fiver! If two people guess the same… the first person to guess it will win. You can have one guess per day. Closing date will be when the baby is born. So come on… get guessing
A little bit of fun….
