Playing With Toys
Yesterday, I felt inspired. Found instructions for an adorable stuffed toy. I grabbed a skein of "I Love This Yarn" and started cranking out the body. Stitches "slipped" so I frogged it and started again. Same thing happened! Frogged it (again) and restarted for a third time. Any guesses what happened? Yup! Frog! I'm not so much loving this yarn anymore! I FINALLY got something passable and will try to share photos when I get the rest of the pieces made and stitched together. In the meantime, I have questions: 1. What is the difference between a dropped stitch and a tucked stitch? 2. Is there an easy way to correct each issue? I've been watching videos and instructions but I must be thick in the head! 3. Sometimes, the loop doesn't stay around the two little up-pointing teeth. If I see that immediately, I pull the loop back on with a loom pick. 4. Other times, there will be two loops around those little teeth...and I'm not sure which loop to try to release. Any guidance from the pros out there?
Panels, perfect until perplexingly popping off the pins
Played around with the A22 for a bit. Now back on my S48 attempting to learn how to do panels. I watched the videos in the VIP Courses and it was very clear what to do. 1st Attempt: I got about 4 rows in on my first attempt before I dropped a stitch and couldn't get it fixed. 2nd Attempt: Got 6 rows in and dropped 2 stitches right next to each other... Ugh... ... Break time. Re-watch videos... 3rd Attempt: Slowed down to barely moving, popped stitches all over. Time for different yarn. 4th Attempt: Normal pace. Was 9 rows in. Popped stitch. Didn't see it. Popped more off the pins. 5th Attempt: Should I bother? Or wait til later and try again. Nope... tried now, 5 rows in, lost 3 stitches. Not giving up. Just taking a break from panels for a little bit. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I've used this yarn plenty of times. But the frustration is real. Going to try doing something different, then later come back to try panels again.
