Frag Battle: Dior Sauvage Elixir vs Bleu de Chanel EDP (Pick One & Why)
Two heavyweights. Two very different styles. Option 1: Dior Sauvage Elixir - Bold, rich, spicy, loud, attention-grabbing. Option 2: Bleu de Chanel Parfum - Smooth, versatile, refined, and easy to wear in almost any situation. So let’s debate it: If you could only keep one, which are you choosing? Sauvage Elixir or Bleu de Chanel EDP? Make your case: Which one wins on scent, versatility, performance, compliment factor, and overall value? Bonus: Which fragrance would you recommend more often to the average guy?

Spouse opinion
So today I’m wearing D&G The One EDP. I love this fragrance but after applying it this morning my wife asked what it was and said she didn’t really like it. How do you all react to your spouse not enjoying your fragrance. Do you wear it less. Not wear it at all. Or completely ignore it and wear what you like.

It’s a hot one! This one is so good. It’s smoother than the JPG that it’s cloning, but it doesn’t last as long. At this price-point, that doesn’t bother me one bit. I’ve come to prefer this over Paradise Garden.

SOTD: L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Intense by Issey Miyake 15/04/2026
This one comes across as a darker, moody brother of the 1994 original. While the og is a bright, aquatic citrus, the Intense version trades some of that airy freshness for smoke, spices and a dose of incense. Created by the same perfumer as the og, Jacques Cavallier released this one in 2007, he's also responsible for the likes of Acqua di Gio and several Louis Vuitton fragrances. It's a woody/Spicey scent that's on a theme of contrast. The meeting of water & concrete, which is said to be reflected in its bottle design, (sounds a bit Art school waffle to me). It opens with the signature Yuzu, a Japanese citron, found in the original, but it’s joined by Bergamot, Sweet Orange & Mandarin. It is zesty & sharp, but slightly denser and less sparkling than the original. As the citrus fades, a warm, dry spice rack emerges at the core. Nutmeg, Cardamom, Saffron & Cinnamon create a slightly exotic mid section. A hint of Lotus keeps a thin thread of the original's DNA alive. The base is where the Intense name really comes from. The drydown is dominated with Black Incense, Papyrus & Amber. It smells earthy, smoky with a touch of mineral, like wet pavement after a rain storm. You can pick this up for under €30, which gives a clue towards its performance, it's also an edt so don't expect huge performance. 5hrs is about the best you will get and that's some heavy spraying, 12-15. Projection is moderate for around 90m, then It creates a nice scent bubble without being obnoxious. The spices and incense make it shine in cooler weather, though it works for spring nights. Still a good budget option to have in my book. My Rating 6.5/10 Scent 2 Longevity 2 Sillage 1.5 Y/N 1
