Well, I find myself home alone lounging on my couch tonight, and I thought there’s no better time to douse myself in a fragrance I love. And so, for your scentertainment, here’s another installment of solo beast mode night: Absolute Aphrodisiac. Five sprays to each arm and four to my shirt, and I’m now marinating in a deliciously sweet yet oddly edgy bubble of goodness. Absolute Aphrodisiac has such an interesting mix - it’s got a frothy ambery sweet vanilla desert vibe, lifted up by musk and a really interesting note that I guess is castoreum, but there’s a warm backbone hiding in here and a teeny tiny edge from a light leather note. I’m not usually one for dessert-like vanilla scents (or really anything sweet, for that matter) but somehow this one just nails it for me. It’s unique in my collection and I love busting it out on cold nights. From past experience, projection is pretty solid — I’ll be radiating vanilla goodness for a few hours and then this will be a delicious skin scent that will carry me well past bedtime. No data yet on whether this actually works as an aphrodisiac, but if things progress with this lady I’ve just started seeing, I will wear it one night around her and let you guys know…

had a blind date today at the strip. after making sure she made it back to her car okay and saying my goodbyes… i realized that i had some time to kill while i was here, so i made the pleasure of going to more boutique stores. i went to louis vuitton first to smell my favorites, and ended up taking two samples they offered. i took imagination to give to my stepdad, because as a big fan of azzaro chrome, acqua di gio, and perry ellis red, i knew he would love this one, and one i have yet to try on my skin… pacific chill. love the scent profile, excited to try this one. i found a location, a Dior that offers La Collection Privee, and like jumped out of my seat. looked EVERYWHERE for it, and finally found one. they were so nice too, and liked me so much they gave me some free samples of the stuff they had in stock. the current ones i have are: eden-roc gris dior …and the espirit editions of oud ispahan bois d’argent. can’t wait to try these out. what a blessed day it’s been! oh also they gave me this nifty bag too. could say it’s my first dior bag ;), foreshadowing for what’s yet to come.
