Hey brothers, first time posting here with a SOTD. Itās nearing the end of our summer here in New Zealand with Autumn around the corner so the mornings are getting brisker and the days and evenings are cooling down too.
My go-to-grab lately has been one of the newer additions to my collection, Versace Eros Flame.
Starts off with a burst of bright sharp citrus blended with a pepper spice, lots of beautiful mandarin notes right off the bat. The sharpness of the pepper and forefront of the mandarin steps back shortly after, with the other citrusās starting to balance out. The rosemary for me is more of a mellow, warm-green, wood kindling/twigs that just introduces some of the woody base notes that come in later.
After about 30mins to an hour the clean floral heart starts to blend with the citrusās. The rose and geranium are brought forward on a cushioned bed of sweet vanilla and deep tonka that carryās from the base upward. Itās not sickly and itās not heavy, but itās smooth and rich and like a soft blanket wrapping around the citrus top as the fragrance develops.
Towards the 2-3 hour mark and onward, the scent profile develops more and the base notes start to make there mark. Warm, creamy sandalwood mixed with dry cedar is complimented with the decadent vanilla and grunty rich tonka bean. You can still catch some of citrus fruits lingering which is a nice addition when the breeze passes on a brisk Autumn day.
Overall love this cologne and itās a staple for me going into Autumn. This is my first SOTD post so please excuse my tangent or poor terminology š
Iām only going into the 2nd year of my fragrance journey so still building my collection and expanding my knowledge (which lead me here to this awesome brotherhood). Cheers for your time brothers, hope all are well out there š¤š¼
