Happy Humpday Frag Fam

This week is flying by and I am perfectly fine with that especially with a fragrance event happening at my favorite brick and mortar this weekend. The anticipation is real and I am looking forward to seeing what treasures await.

Today I decided to challenge my olfactory system with a beautifully complex and unconventional composition. The nose behind this creation is the mad scientist himself,Alessandro Gualtieri. . My scent of the day is Fantomas by Nasomatto.

This fragrance contains some of the most unusual accords I have ever experienced. What I pick up is a sweet smoky earthiness layered with subtle hints of plastic and a bizarre watery ozonic quality that should not make sense on paper. Somehow it all comes together in perfect harmony. It is abstract, slightly challenging, yet completely captivating.

Nothing from this house is blind buy safe and I respect that because the perfumer is a true artist. When you wear one of his creations you are not just wearing a fragrance you are experiencing art. Fantomas is daring, unconventional and absolutely fascinating from start to finish.

Projection makes a statement. Sillage leaves a presence. The composition keeps you engaged throughout the wear.

For me this is a masterpiece and an easy 9.5.
