Good morning fragrance family and happy Wednesday—aka hump day. This is a first wear, first impression and today’s scent of the day is Deluge. I’m definitely stepping outside of my comfort zone with this one, courtesy of a decant from my brother.
Right out of the gate, the opening is challenging and honestly unlike anything else I’ve smelled before. It does, however, share a metallic nuance with another unconventional fragrance in my collection, Ganymede, which helped me frame what my nose was experiencing. This is not an easy or mass-appealing scent by any stretch. I would confidently say this is never blind-buy worthy, but for me, it is absolutely full-bottle worthy.
Deluge comes across green, earthy, metallic, and spicy, with just the slightest hint of florals woven in. It feels atmospheric and conceptual, almost like a place rather than just a fragrance. I’d also venture to say this is not safe for a beginner or even an intermediate nose—it demands patience and curiosity.
Overall, I’m impressed and intrigued. Rating: 8.5/10.
