This rather enjoyable number from Carolina Herrera was released in 2017 & created by perfumers Carlos Benaïm & Anne Flipo. It's my first from this house & was a total blind buy, that I picked up in Superdrug for a bargain €34. It's an Aromatic Amber Wood scent that I really enjoy, my only issue is that I didn't get a bigger bottle.
In the opening, the absinthe note, combined with anise & fennel, provide a noticeable aromatic & slightly boozy, spicy-licorice quality. At its heart, Lavender provides a clean, aromatic & smooth contrast to the fierce opening, adding a touch of classic masculine sophistication. It's not listed but I get a subtle whiff of a leather note at times in the air. Lastly the base notes. It dries down into a lovely Black Vanilla Husk & Musk. The vanilla and dark musk create a smooth, sweet, comforting foundation that lingers on the skin
This is one of those blind buys that really paid off. It's clean, but also dark & modern. A spicy fragrance that's perfect for nightlife, clubbing & parties. I'm getting almost 7 hrs on skin with good projection for the first few hours. I'll no doubt be replacing this for a larger bottle soon enough.
