Slay the Sample Sunday: BDK’s Gris Charnel
I’ve heard a lot of good things about this one, so I figured I’d try the sample that’s been sitting around for awhile. It’s been a very enjoyable wear.
It opens with a spicy freshness that is aromatic, yet dark and woody at the same time. As it settles in, Gris Charnel reminds me of a more mature version of PDM Sedley. It’s spicy, aromatic, and fresh, but isn’t as sweet and playful as Sedley is. This is a great all around daily wear that is versatile for any situation. I think you could dress it up and down and fit right in. Performance is good- I’ve gotten about 6 hours before it settles into a skin scent. Projection is moderate as well, so you’d need quite a few sprays to get it pumping off the skin.
Overall, this is a great scent that I think just about everyone would enjoy. I’ve enjoyed it, but for me, I have other freshies that I’d reach for before this one.
