Stopped by and picked up a sample of Creed’s upcoming release (in March) Wild Vetiver to give it a proper wear today. I went liberally with 8 sprays, and it really feels like Creed returning to their classic fresh DNA after the darker directions of Centaurus, Delphinus, and Oud Zarian.
Right off the skin it opens bright, green, and airy with a noticeable lift. The florals are very noticeable. It never gets too loud, but it extends a scent bubble nicely. I’d call performance great overall. This smells more like clean spring air than a barbershop. It’s playful and breezy, and definitely lighter and more carefree than Original Vetiver.
Important distinction: this is a floral Vetiver and nothing like the creamy, rooty vetiver of Zaharoff Seraphim Khus. There’s no heavy soil or dense earth here. Instead, it stays polished, clean, and refined. Also not a gym freshie. The vibe leans mature, composed and put together, rather than youthful or sporty.
At around hour 7 hour mark it was still clearly on skin, just softer and a touch sweeter while it kept a faint halo going.
I’ll need to spend more time with it but for Creed I think this one will sell well. I’ll definitely move in the direction of a bottle, although definitely not at retail price. Once testers hit discounters in the early summer, that’s where I’ll be looking for it. This feels like an easy warm weather daily signature Creed; understated, elegant, and very wearable.
I’d highly suggest if you’re interested in this one to stop by your local Creed retailer and ask to smell it and then for a sample.
