Polo green... Leather?

Good day everyone! I recently aquired my first Ralph Lauren "Green" Polo 125 ml bottle, and it turned out to smell very, VERY odd, instead of being green, dry and earthy is now sweet, kind of fruity and even funky smelling. I have tried testers out there (literally weeks ago) that still smell just like it should, but many others smell just like a bottle of Carlo Corinto Classic that has gone bad. I know there's been reformulations and it changed its composition, but my question is, do any of you know about a modern batch that still smells like the great old money fougere it was? I've been literally smelling it for years, and two or three months ago, the great scent was still around, so maybe the previous formula is still being sold somewhere in here.
