I recently purchased a decant of 5ml of French Lover, a fragrance created by Pierre Bourdon and released in 2007. This fragrance exudes a sophisticated and refined scent profile. It’s a harmonious blend of angelica, cedar, vetiver, incense, patchouli, and musk, creating an aroma reminiscent of cool forest air and tailored woods. Unlike sweet or overpowering scents, French Lover offers a subtle and elegant fragrance experience.
Unlike playful or easy-going fragrances, French Lover exudes a sense of reserved maturity and quiet confidence. Its opening presents a bitter-green, aromatic edge, which gradually transitions into dry woods and incense, culminating in a soft musky trail.
My final thoughts: If you prefer sweet, loud, and mass-appealing scents, French Lover might not be your cup of tea. However, if you appreciate classy, woody, and green fragrances with a serious personality, French Lover is truly well-crafted. I personally don’t believe it’s worth a full bottle, but I’m glad I got to experience this fragrance.
