Good morning everyone. It's that time of the week again for another fragrance review of one of my samples. This week, I decided to try out Dear Polly by Vilhelm Perfumerie.
From the first spritz, the scent hits you with a bright, green, and citrusy opening that evokes the feeling of lounging under a lemon tree. After just a couple of minutes, I began to notice a delightful green tea note emerging, which quickly became the highlight of this fragrance. The fresh citrus and tea elements meld beautifully in the heart, creating a refreshing and invigorating aroma.
As the fragrance evolves, around the 10 to 15-minute mark, a musky ambroxan note joins the mix, maintaining the enchanting blend through to the dry-down.
In terms of performance, Dear Polly is not a powerhouse. The citrus and tea notes are vibrant but remain soft for about two hours after application—this was definitely my favorite part of the wearing experience. After those first two hours, the scent transitions into a skin scent and lingers for about 5 hours. While the projection is rather weak, it’s undeniably a lovely fresh green scent.
Overall, I found myself really enjoying Dear Polly. However, its longevity does mean I’d need to carry it around for reapplications throughout the day. It’s a fantastic choice for hot weather and perfect for office wear during the summer months.
In conclusion, would I buy Dear Polly at full price? Probably not. But if I came across it at a discount, it would definitely find a home in my collection.
