You Can’t Hate Yourself Thin Or Healthy
TAKING ACTION:
✅If you’ve ever tried to change out of frustration or dislike for your body, how’d that work out for you? Did it prove to only produce short-term results? Let’s talk about it below!
This week, we’re discussing how it’s possible to both love and appreciate your body while also having goals.
I think women often feel guilty for having aesthetic goals. We’re in a season where “body positivity” is a mainstream message. Don’t get me wrong—I’m here for it. I think we should love and appreciate our bodies regardless of size, weight, or shape. With that said, it’s also totally possible to love yourself as is AND have goals. In my opinion, that’s the best way to approach your health & wellness journey—with both love and a desire for improvement. 💯
Think about this for a moment: You can’t hate yourself thin or healthy.
I mean, I suppose you can. But how well does that work out? From my experience, it doesn’t work out too well. Maybe you can lose weight and reach some goals, but the reality is that it makes you miserable; however, when you strive towards goals because you already LOVE your body, the journey is a more pleasant one…because you love yourself and your body despite the mess-ups and extra lbs. The road bumps don’t send you into a spiral—because you already love yourself.
In my opinion, self-love is a critical piece of the puzzle—simply because there’s nothing that can happen that will make you love yourself or your body any less. No feeling defeated. No spirals. Just the ability to pick right back up where you left off.
If you’ve been trying to reach your goals from a place of “dislike” or even “hatred”, maybe consider changing the narrative. Tomorrow, we’re going to learn more about how to find love for your body, regardless of what it looks like. 🫶
