Recovery Day
TAKING ACTION: ✅Tell me how you plan to spend your rest & recovery day? Will you take advantage of the yoga/mobility workout today? Take a walk? Something else? **workout in comments*** It’s Rest & Recovery Day, and you know what I’m going to say, don’t you? Taking proper rest & recovery days from working out is critical when it comes to balancing your cortisol rhythm. Here’s why ⬇️ Exercise briefly raises cortisol to help your body handle the workout, which is normal—but skipping rest days can keep it high for too long, making it harder for your muscles to repair, leaving you more open to getting sick, and messing with your sleep. Taking recovery days lets cortisol drop back to normal so your body can heal, get stronger, and avoid burnout. ⬇️OPTIONAL READING⬇️ Why recovery days matter: Balancing cortisol levels — Summit Physical Therapy & Performance _________________________________________________ Don’t forget - you can earn monthly recurring commission by inviting friends with your unique code in the app! 💗 Share it with some friends and encourage them to join!!

First things first. Cortisol is often referred to as the “stress” hormone, but it’s important to know that cortisol isn’t the enemy. Nor is stress. Our bodies depend on both cortisol and healthy stress, and we’re going to talk more about that throughout the month. Cortisol helps regulate stress, as you can see in the definition above. So, we need it. Along with regulating stress, it is also “an essential hormone that affects almost every organ and tissue in your body. It helps regulate how your body uses glucose (sugar) for energy, decreases inflammation, regulates blood pressure, and helps to control your sleep/wake cycle. You may think of cortisol when it comes to your stress, but as you can see, it plays many more important roles when it comes to your overall health. As you can see, cortisol isn’t the enemy everyone thinks it is. It’s essential, not just for your overall health, but also your ability to burn unwanted fat and prevent weight gain. The trick is in finding how to balance your cortisol levels throughout the day so that it doesn’t remain high all day long or at times when your cortisol level should be at lower levels. Balance is the key. 🔑 Speaking of balance, check out this macro-balanced recipe below! I know, I know, it’s a low-carb day…but tomorrow isn’t. 😉 Street Corn Chicken Rice Bowl - Eat the Gains __________________________________________________________________________________________________ ⬇️⭐️NEW CLIENT INFO and TO-DO’s⭐️⬇️ Happy Day One! Food & Cosmetic scanner
Curious if anyone has or had any experience with any food & cosmetic scanner apps? For instance, Yuka which is a food & cosmetic scanner Olive which is a food and cosmetic scanner & then Bobby Approved which is just a food scanner. There are others but these 3 popped up today when I was doing some research on buying healthier foods.

Have you tried the Be Well makeup line? I started with the foundation. Now, I use it all—and only Be Well. 🩷 It took me a minute to replace everything because I couldn’t buy it all at once. But I’m amazed at how little eyeshadow, blush, etc. you actually have to use. The pigmentation is SO good that a tiny bit goes a long way. You don’t have to keep layering it on to get the color you want, so everything lasts forever!

@Bobbi Duewer I love it! And I don’t have to worry about what’s in it. I have the powder blush now, but my next purchase is going to be the cream blush multi stick.
Morning ☀️
Front porch swinging, reading my new book, water - just waiting for the ☀️ to pop out from behind the trees! I’ve already walked for 20 minutes. 🏃‍♀️ And, I’m waking up this early without an alarm! Who knew I wouldn’t always set 4 alarms, hit snooze multiple times, and drag out of the bed still dog tired! 🤗

Cortisol - The Stress Hormone

The ⭐️ NEW CLIENT INFO at the bottom of each day’s post will be your go-to baseline! ✅NEW CLIENTS & Veteran VIP Clients: What questions do you have about cortisol rhythm? If you’re a social media user of any sort, and especially if you follow health & wellness influencers, you have likely heard them talking about the need to “lower your cortisol”. That’s not exactly right. The goal is to balance your cortisol levels. You have what’s called a cortisol rhythm, and the goal is always to have the rhythm balanced so that your cortisol works for you, and not against you. An ideal cortisol rhythm is when your cortisol is high in the mornings and low a few hours before bedtime. Though we call it the “stress” hormone, it is actually responsible for many things, with a primary role being to mobilize (move) glucose to tissues that need energy—for getting out of bed every morning, exercising, etc. That’s why higher cortisol in the morning is a good thing. As you approach bedtime, it makes sense that we don’t need as much energy; therefore, finding ways to naturally lower your cortisol in the evenings makes sense. Again, the goal this month (and long term!) is to have a balanced and optimal cortisol rhythm. In the days to come, we’re going to chat about ways to do just that! 🙌 ⬇️OPTIONAL READING⬇️ Cortisol (the "Stress Hormone") Explained ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ ⬇️⭐️NEW CLIENT INFO and TO-DO’s⭐️⬇️ Happy Day One!
