Good day Dr. Weir.
It's my understanding that the SSA benefits are a month in arears, I asked this question: my husband passed away January 27th, 2026. His SSA December (sent in Jan) benefit was withdrawn from his checking account by the SSA. I spoke with them and asked why and also why he wasn't entitled to his February (Jan) benefit? All they say is he wasn't entitled to it due to his passing in January. The December (Jan) check is stuck somewhere in the void. I processed the 1724 form along with a copy of the death certificate, they have it, completed and an additional copy that is blank. What do I do to receive his 2 benefit checks?
