I believe that will get you 11 payments in 2027 starting with February. Remember, our very first SSA check/ deposit is delayed by one month for all of us. It’s standard practice.

Starting benefits in December 2026 will get you monthly payments starting in January, just as you initially mentioned to receive no SSA payments in 2026 since your first payment will be delayed by one month plus. Start in Dec., first payment in Jan.

Please read the ANOC if nothing else to understand the pattern of important vs boilerplate language. It is an important notification every year. Let it ride might include a complete cancellation of your policy next year.
