SSDI and widow’s benefits.
I’m on SSDI. Turned 65 this month. Deceased husband was on SS when he passed away in May at 76 years old.
Dr Weir said on a podcast that I could collect both my SSDI plus widow’s benefits. From what I’ve researched it looks like I could collect the higher of both, not both. True?? I will stay on SSDi until I’m FRA.
Part 2: Divorced after 10 yrs to first husband. Then 20 yrs for deceased husband. Since I’m technically single now, do I get to choose whose record I want to file on (#1, #2 or my own)?
