Welcome to Athlete AI. Introduce Yourself!
Glad you're here. I'm Kevin, an ultrarunner & triathlete (Leadville 100 was my most fun race). I'm not a tech guru. I got curious about AI, realized I could build training tools tailored exactly to me from my own data, and it actually worked. Now I want to teach you to do the same and connect with people building cool things in fitness with AI. That's the whole idea: learn something genuinely interesting, build stuff that's truly yours, and do it alongside like-minded people. Zero coding required. Five steps to start: 1. Introduce yourself in the feed. Something like: "Hi, I'm Steve, I run trail ultras and can't wait to build with AI!" 2. Complete the intro poll so we know we can build the content around what you want: Athlete AI Poll 3. Watch Start Here course (top of the Classroom). Two minutes. 4. Do Day 0 in the 7-Day Challenge: Set Up Your Workshop. 5. Post in Wins as you finish each day, tagged (#Day0Ready). We celebrate every one. The setup day is the hardest part, and we get everyone through it. Stuck? Post what you tried and someone (often me) will get you unstuck. Let's build. Follow the road to The Rut.

Week 6 - The Results are In!
Happy Monday AAC Team! We are 691 strong today, up from 585 last Monday. That is 106 new faces in seven days... so freaking cool! First, lets talk event. The results from last week's event poll are in and virtual beat in-person 2 to 1. So that settles it. Our first team event will be some type of virtual based competition. @Ian Antonoff and I are connecting this am to put the foundation together, and once we have the shape of it I will put another poll up so you can pick what we actually compete on. This has been one of the most requested things since the very first survey, so stoked to get this going! Secondly, a brief recap of what we pushed last week in case you missed something: 1) Athlete AI Weekly - our newsletter is live! Issue 1 went out Friday. Every week: the AI, gear and science news that actually matters, with my spin on each one. This is going to be evolving as it goes, so if there are certain things you want to see, please let me know! A bunch of you asked for this in the poll, so thank you for pushing me on it [link - Substack issue 1] 2) Advanced Series, hosting - the lesson on launching your first website and getting your Athlete OS live and secure is out. [link - classroom] 3) Intervals.icu - the full set-up and walkthrough. Claude reads your training and writes the workout straight to your watch. One structured connection instead of six [link] 4) Heat Adaptation prompt - Badwater 135 just wrapped with two course records falling in the same 118 degree evening, so I pulled 4 papers and built the protocol [link]

Team Event - Weight Loss and Body Recomp Challenge
If you are like me, you have tried to lose weight or get back to your old body fat % (god I miss being a college kid), and every time you start, you get to a certain point and fall back into your old habits before you reach your goal. I am training for a giant ultra in September and want to get into the best shape of my life beforehand. With that comes the desire to get light, lean and actually be happy with how I look in the mirror. Which is leading me down the path of counting macros and tracking what I eat (yay, super fun!). One of the things that has allowed me to succeed in life is doing things as a team (hence one of the reasons I started this entire community). Doing hard things alone sucks, doing hard things with others is actually fun. @Tyler Swartz 's post about combining my fitness pal into his training data and @Robby Gentry 's work in his Athlete OS around getting dialed in for his race got me thinking, what better way to kick off our first team event then to start a group for those who want to go down the journey of weight loss and body recomp with me. We can use AI to track things and monitor our progress in our own Athlete OS', while making it a communal goal of shedding the annoying extra weight. We can keep each other accountable and motivate each other when it gets hard. It's a completely judge free zone and you can share as much or as little as you want (I'll probably share too much lol). If this is something you are interested in, go ahead and like this message and shoot me a DM with your What'sApp number. I will make a group for us to chat offline and we can come up with how best to manage it as we go! Kevin

He guys!
Name’s Jake, I’m 32, dad of 4 boys. Married 12 years. I take my training seriously, I’m strength training 4 days a week, BJJ 2-3x/week and doing some light zone 2 & 3 jogging 2-3x/week. I just came across this community and am building out some tools. Any tips on getting allll of this training data into one spot?
Garmin Connect
Hi Everyone I'm doing reallyt nice progress with my app. I'm currently following the 7 Day challenge and on top I build the app using Obsidian and Brain but I'm still facing issues configuring the Garmin connection. I'm getting this error: mobile+cffi returned 429: Mobile login returned 429 — IP rate limited by Garmin mobile+requests returned 429: Mobile login returned 429 — IP rate limited by Garmin Traceback (most recent call last): I did the initial setup from the prompt and then tried to attemp the garmin connection through the other approach none working, the weird thing is I did the very same setup with my girlfriend and her garmin connection worked :(
