Intervals.icu
I was getting feedback on a recent run where I started doing strides as part of my rehab running plan provided by Claude and Claude got the pace completely wrong when he analyzed the info from intervals.icu. When I pushed back on the results I was told that Claude can go pick up the entire .fit file that Garmin sends to intervals.icu and rather analyze that. I was not aware of the fact the Garmin pushes the entire .fit file to intervals.icu, and after telling Claude to go analyze that, all the info came back a lot more accurate and helpful. My question besides just telling Claude to just do it every time, is what would be a clever prompt to give Claude to always go get the actual .fit file from intervals.icu and always analyze that instead of making it's own assumptions based on the training it suggested? Another trap I fell in was that Claude gets stuck on something written in one of your files and then makes training advice mistakes. I have learned to question the training it provides if it does not make sense. I have two 10km races coming up, but they are just training runs with water tables as I am not allowed to race yet. Claude had it stuck in it's mind that they were "races" (even after correcting him a few times) and was lowering my mileage and gym work to recover from the "races". Now that I finally have it firmly imbedded in my athlete profile that there is no difference between these two runs and a normal 10km I would be running, Claude has changed strategy and is giving me proper advice. Just food for thought and hopefully someone can give me a clever prompt to tell Claude to use those .fit files. Thanks all!!!

Hi Kevin, I looked at Supabase and it still needs a routine to run to pull the data from Garmin. It is cool that it then sits in a separate database you can interrogate, but for my training purposes Claude already pulls the data, so I would just be adding extra steps. I have also now changed Claude to pull the .fit file that Garmin hands intervals.icu and use that for all training activities / checks etc. The new Garmin API key seems to give you access to that exact .fit file, so I will have to change my entire Athlete OS to end up in the same place. I love the ideas and the feedback, please keep it coming. I will use it in some place I know myself!!! 🧐😂

@Kevin Rudd So after telling Claude to pull the entire .fit file that Garmin hands intervals.icu and use that for all training activities / checks etc. Claude came back and told me that it will not give me any more training data that intervals.icu does not already provide. Claude did say however that when I run 20 second strides in my plan and he reviews it, he will then pull that file to better isolate those 20 second sections as the data from intervals.icu does not provide per second info. Happy to say I ran my 3rd 10km race this morning, holding back at 5:50 pace as instructed and having a blast (as frustrating as holding back is at the moment). 🥳🙈
Garmin Just Released Personal API Keys!
Garmin just gave every user their own personal API key! This is the official way into your Garmin data, no password sharing or unofficial workarounds, and it reaches your whole history. I grabbed mine this morning and it went all the way back to 2021... 1,589 activities and 1,638 nights of sleep. Full guide and prompt here: Garmin Official API + Training Dashboard The prompt walks you through getting your key, asks you a few quick questions about what you're training for and the look you like, then builds you your own training dashboard. I ran into a couple of weird limits pulling mine so I baked the fixes right into the prompt lol FYI: it's read only, so it can't push workouts to your watch. Set yours up and let me know if you find anything cool hiding in your history! 🤓 Kevin

Hi Kevin, I believe VO2 max, recovery time, and performance condition aren't exposed through it. Can you verify please?
💡Idea for Proposed Weekly Meeting
One of the things I think is missing from this community is more teaching from me or really anyone with a cool idea or concept. So far we made the 7 day challenge and that was awesome, but since then I've just been dropping guide and prompts and hoping that everyone understood how to use them or understands just general AI best practices. So what I was thinking was we could make the weekly virtual meeting a 30 min block where I, or if someone else has something they want to talk about they can, teach a new concept or idea and then we can talk about it. Some general topic ideas could be: understanding wearable APIs, Agent Orchestration, difference between different models, new ai drops, proper prompting, proper researching, etc. Then each week we are learning and teaching concepts that are actionable for everyone. We can still leave time for general discussion but the meetings would have more substance behind them. What are people's thoughts on this concept?

Will just have to see the time. Stuck on the other end of the clock on this side!! 🧐😂 I agree with Andrew, I would like to see how to make the AI more "clever", it still makes a lot of basic mistakes, but I am sure that can be fixed in proper prompting.
Garmin Knows Who Annoys You
I was playing around with my Garmin data and a question popped up... who on my calendar actually stresses me out? Your Garmin turns your heart rate into a stress reading every 3 minutes. Your calendar knows who you were with. So I had Claude line up 90 days of both. Here is how it works: 1. Connect your Garmin to Claude 2. Connect your Google Calendar 3. Paste one prompt and Claude scores every meeting against your normal for that time of day 4. Throw out the meetings right after a workout (your stress stays high after exercise, my whole first list was wrong lol) My haircut out-stressed every call I took and the dentist made my calmest list 😂 Full guide and prompt here: Garmin Knows Who Annoys You Set it up and let me know if you find out anything cool about yourself! I will have to start putting things in my calendar first. At the moment it will think I am a Zen Master! 😂

@Néviton Fritzen I think it might at the dentist though!! 😂
Thank you... from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
In July of this year, I made a massive career and life decision. I left my cushy, high paying corporate role and decided to try to build something that I actually cared about. Something I have a true passion for. I was so burnt out and mentally drained from years of working on someone else's dream, building someone else's life, and having someone else control my time that something needed to change. I had absolutely no idea if anyone else shared my same passion for technology and athletics, but now with over 1200+ athletes in this community and massive Instagram growth it's clear I am not alone. We are not alone. The biggest reward over the last 100 days has been seeing everyone in here learn how to actually use AI to not just improve their training but to integrate it into your every day lives. The testimonials and the personal notes about how life changing the material in here has been beats any high paying salary. I've made many mistakes building this along the way and I'm getting better every single day. Cheers to many more days of Athlete AI to come. New series will be starting soon, so stay tuned!
