Busy choosing!
Already tested 2 coulours. They have 19/20 stitches for 10 cm with needle size 4,5. Blue is d The yellow is b Do you knitters test them first?

I definitely (though a bit begrudgingly) plan on making a swatch, since I'm a beginner and never knitted a stranded sweater. I read you're supposed to make the swatch in stranded colourwork if that's the technique you want to use, because the tension is often different than plain knitting, but here's you swatch in plain knit. Does it matter at all?
Halo anyone?
Is anyone considering holding a kidsilk in tandem to give some fuzziness? ..... or, more importantly, would it be stupid to hold a kidsilk for only a few motif sections instead of throughout the entire sweater? (E.g. would stripes of halo look silly?)

I think I'm going to do exactly that - adding mohair for just some of the section(s). It's going to add an interesting texture!
Help with yarn choice
I've combed through my stash and came up with this combo: main: dark greens and blues, blending: burgundy, maroon, contrast: beige and powder pink, framing: black. I usually prefer dark, muted colours, and I'm happy with the combination. (though most of the sweaters I own are dark green... oh well, what can a girl do). Just few things I'm worried about: 1. I don't want a beige sweater. And though the colour category is listed as "contrast", it's A LOT of yarn! I'm afraid the sweater is going to be mostly beige. 2. I'm not sure if it's ok for the contrast colour to be lighter than the main colour - I've noticed that in some designs the pattern looks better if the base is light and the motif dark. Since this is a mystery knit, I've no way of knowing if it's going to work, or if it would be better to switch these two? 3. And lastly, being still a beginner, I'm not sure if it's ok to mix these materials. All of the yarns I picked are wool / merino / alpaca blends, BUT - is it ok to mix superwash and non-superwash treated yarn in one project? How will I block or wash the sweater when it is finished? (for example: dark green Malabrigo Worsted - single ply, non-superwash, and beige Rial SNC Morbidone - plied, superwash treated)

@Zanete Hussain thank you! It's definitely going to be an experiment with textures :D

Hi! This is my first knit-along, first colour work sweater, and first Zanete pattern :) I've been knitting for 1 year, and the technique I love the most (and also the reason I started knitting) is stranded knitting. I've managed to knit 25 items in the past year, mostly small items like cowls, many of them stranded. Apart from knitting, I also love making pottery. I live with my partner, our dog, and 2 cats in a small village near a forest. Looking forward to this project <3 Greetings from Slovakia!
